The honest comparison

You have other options. Here is the honest comparison.

In a city this size, you could call a rideshare, use a hospital shuttle, or go through a broker. All three work for somebody. Here is when they do not.

Where it works Where it breaks

Fine if you are walking to a routine appointment and coming home under your own steam. It falls apart if you use a wheelchair, if you have been sedated, or if you need somebody to walk you in. Most importantly, a discharge nurse will not release a sedated patient to one.

Worth using when it covers your trip. The limits are the schedule and the route. It runs when it runs, it goes where it goes, and it will not take you home from a different clinic across town.

Covered by some insurance plans, which is a real advantage. The tradeoff is that the ride is subcontracted to whichever driver takes it. Families call us most often after a brokered ride did not show, and dialysis patients call us most often after it happened twice.

Private pay is the honest downside. What you get for it is that the same small team dispatches, drives, and answers the phone. We know your name, we come to the door, and if we cannot cover something we tell you rather than leaving you waiting.

If a shuttle covers your trip, take the shuttle. We would rather tell you that than take a booking you did not need.
